- The ACM SIGCHI Conference on Designing Interactive Systems (DIS) is the premier international arena where designers, artists, psychologists, user experience researchers, systems engineers, and many more, come together to debate and shape the future of interactive systems design and practice.
This year’s in-person events were held at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, from July 10th to 14th, 2023. DIS 2023 explores the theme of Resilience, delving into its multifaceted meaning and implications. It focuses on the importance of robust design and systems in the face of uncertainties and challenges. The conference invites critical examinations, resistance, and innovative approaches to rethink traditional notions of resilience in interactive design research and practices. It encourages creative and provocative interactive systems that expand our understanding of design in an ever-changing world.
